Das islamische Spanien und die Reconquista
Mit der Errichtung des islamischen Staates in Medina durch den Propheten (s.) wurde im Jahre 622 n. Chr. ein neues Kapitel der Weltgeschichte eingeleitet. Dieses Ereignis blieb in Europa zunächst unbemerkt. Doch der noch junge Staat expandierte in rasanter Geschwindigkeit, vor allem unter dem zweiten rechtgeleiteten Kalifen Omar (r.) (Regentschaft: 12-22 n. H. / 634-644 n. C.).
